Savannah's Gift

It may come as no surprise to many of you that Savannah has been bestowed with an early gift...the gift of gab.  Whether you view this "gift" as a gift or curse is not important.  The fact is, I talk to her all day, every day (because she is the only person I see other than the teenage checker at the grocery store) so it was only a matter of time before Savannah became able to defend herself against my onslaught of verbosity.  And defend herself she does!!

Okay, cut to yesterday at the doctor's office for her 1 year visit.  I am giving Dr. Kipp Savannah's life history and he asks me if she is talking yet.  "Of course, she has at least 50 words or so, and the list grows every day."  He then asked if she was putting two words together.  I racked my brain to think of any times when she had done as much, but could think of none.  Just that morning in the car she got, "doctor" and "Kipp" but not, "Doctor Kipp".   As we left the doctor's office I went to strap her in to her car seat and sure enough, a two-word explosion came blasting out of her mouth.  It wasn't the first time I had heard her use the combination of words as it is really her favorite, feel-good phrase.  I just hadn't thought of it up until then.  I wanted to run back in to the doctor and hold her up to show him, but I knew she would have some stage fright, and the trauma of reentering the house of pain (shots) wouldn't be fun for either of us, regardless of how cute the tweedy bird band aids were.

Fortunately for all of you who continue to peek in on us, I caught a couple of her words plus her favorite phrase, for your viewing pleasure.  (The level of pleasure you might experience will be dependent of your length of parenthood.  I know my Mother will take particular pleasure.)  You'll know it when you hear it.
p.s. Her size has tapered down on the scale some, 65% weight, 85% height, but a whopping 98% for head size.  What a nut.
