What did you say?

We saw the doctor on monday for the good old 18-month check-up.  The following exchange took place as soon as the doctor entered the room.

Me: oh, Savannah, here is Dr. Kipp.
S: Kipp....BAND-AID!  (Heavy emphasis on the "d's")
Dr.: Oh, would you like a band-aid?
S: yes.
(as the Doctor is putting the band-aid on her leg.)
S: PAY FOR IT!
Dr.: Did she really just say that?...oh, it's okay, you've already paid for that.
S: Thank you! (sounds like "day-day")
Dr.: Now you have two band-aids. (the nurse had already given her one, even though she hadn't had any shots.)
S: two, three, six, eight, ten
Dr.: nice counting.  (and then turning to me)  So, is she talking much?
me: Are you serious?  I mean...yes, some.

So, for those of you who don't have the lucky pleasure of talking/listening to Savannah ALL DAY (right down to the moment her head hits the bed) here are a few of her most used phrases right now:

Look at him/it.
HOOOOOLD IT!!
Hold you.  (hold me.)
Wear it.
Put it on.
PUSH HIM IN!  (wanting Daddy to go somewhere)
Get out.  (I'm ready to get out of bed/car/highchair/etc. now.)
Pay for it.  (used for anything that looks appealing in the store.)
All done.
All gone.
Dump it.
Love you.  (Yuv ewe.)
TIME OUT!

For the last couple of nights the last word out of her mouth is her name, which is yelled and heavily emphasized.  I'm not sure if it is a little cheer to help her sleep better, or just a reminder of who she is and what she stands for: going on two, precocious, feisty, and in-charge. Maybe it is just a reminder for us in case we forget it while she sleeps.  Maybe it is the 8th habit of those highly effective people.  Who knows?  Only SA-VANNAH!!!
