Savannah finally made her appearance on Wednesday, June 13 at 2:30 in the morning. She had no interest whatsoever in being born. Here is the rundown of the labor process:
Monday, June 11, 7:00 AM - Check in at hospital get started on inducement
"Labored" all day Monday
Tuesday, June 12, 4:00 AM - water broke
7:00 AM - started on Pitocin drip
11:30 PM - finally complete and ready to push
Wednesday, June 13, 2:22 AM - Savannah arrived - 8 lbs. 7 oz.; 21 1/4 inches
Yes, it's true. 3 hours of pushing. I have never experienced anything quite so exhausting, exhilerating, emotional, and painful all at the same time. What an ordeal, but the most worth-it experience ever. The good news is that I have already forgotten a lot of it and yes, I am willing to do it again...but not anytime soon.

My Mom was there with us the entire hospital stay and spent her time knitting Savannah's Christmas stocking. She finished it just in time and we couldn't resist stuffing the baby in it for a picture.
From the moment she was born she has been very calm and peaceful. She came out with wide eyes just looking around at everything and everyone. So far, she has been that way pretty much since. She loves to sleep and loves to eat (lucky me!) She has already changed SO much in just a week. I keep telling her to stop changing and growing, but no such luck! We went to the pediatrician on Tuesday and she has already put on 10 oz. Her little cheeks keep getting more and more round and kissable. She smiles at us. I know, you are thinking, oh, that's just gas. No, she smiles every day, many times. It is awesome. We've been trying to catch it on film. As soon as we do I'll post it.
I can't believe how much fun it is to be a Mom. I can't get enough of her.

First of all....you are amazing...3 days of labor...I couldn't do it.
She is seriously so adorable. I am calling Adam right now so he can see her. She looks so alert!
And for the record, I believe you that she smiles for real. Everyone told me it was gas too, but there were times when I know it wasn't.
She is beautiful. I am dying to see her and kiss her cheek. Talk to you soon.
Congratulations, Kath! She really is a darling baby. Sorry you had to work so long and hard. She is a doll, and is so lucky to have you two for parents.
We had no idea you guys were even pregnant! Congrats on the adorable baby girl. Hopefully we get to see you next time you are in town.
