My first ride-1996 Honda Accord

Yes, it's true, I got my first car. Well, T & I have had cars together in the past, but we have always shared them. Surprisingly enough, we have been a one-car family for nearly 8 years. (Eco friendly is how I liked to explain it.) Short of the scrunchy around the gear-shift, and graduation tassel on the rear-view, I feel just like I always expected it would feel to have my own first car, GREAT! And, like most people's first car, it is over 10 years old, and has 93K miles on it. No matter that I was in Pep Club the year it was manufactured. I love it, none the less. I have vowed to keep it clean because, as my Mother will attest, a clean car is good for self-esteem.
Like many other inanimate objects that I own, I humanize it. I think about it sometimes during the day, just sitting in the parking lot, patiently waiting for me to come out. Sometimes I even park it so that I can see it from my office window. Today at lunch, I drove, and my friend commented on what a great car it was, how clean and shiny the dashboard was, and that I must have just recently "Armoralled" it. I smiled; I did feel good.
