Hydrangea bud in the side-yard.During our time in Virginia we have grown to love the amazingly distinct seasons. It really seems as if we wake up one day and the next season has begun. Yesterday it felt like spring began. The sun was warming, the birds were singing and the signs of spring seemed to be all around. Last year spring came with great anticipation as I waited for the arrival of the baby. I couldn't wait!!
This year has been somewhat different, in that Spring has signified the end of an era for us...a very long era. We will no longer be students! While this is really good news, it is also a bit sad for us to leave behind such a wonderful and fun time of our lives. It also means that we will be leaving Virginia, which makes us both immensely sad. If only Virginia were a direct flight from SLC, if only we had some family close by, if only it rained a little more in Arizona....if only. And so, we will enjoy these last few weeks here in our first little house, gardening, site-seeing, and enjoying the last hurrah of student life and living in such a beautiful place. Soon we will exchange the beauty of the southeast for the beauty of the desert. So very different, but both wonderful in their own way. I'm sure we will be ready when the time comes, but in the mean time, we will enjoy this season of renewal for the last time as Virginians.

You have both done such a great job on your remodel! We are so proud of both of you. There is a lot of heart that goes into making a house a home. I remember putting out the For Sale sign on our first home and I felt like I was losing one of my children. We are so happy to have you moving closer to home, but feel kind of sad about losing our connection to Virginia as well.
The east coast seems so beautiful, but welcome to AZ. We love it hear! It is a little different not seeing 4 seasons but don't worry it is only a 2 hour drive. We are excited for you guys to move down. Hopefully we'll get to see you some.
Kath, kind of sad to see the For Sale sign in front of your cute house. Oh, and loving the pics of Savannah! Just so you know I'm trying, I've now tried the virtual tour 3 times, and last night, it froze Jon's computer. He was less than enthused. I'm working on it though!
This is a hello more for Chris than me, but I just stumbled onto your blog and thought I would say hi. Check ours out sometime...www.chrisandjenrogers.blogspot.com. Your friends from your old ward, Jen & Chris Rogers
