State Fair

While many of you are nestled all cozy in your homes preparing for a cold winter, we headed out to the AZ state fair today for a nice hot, smelly morning.  The fair was everything it was supposed to be; bad food, bad smells, bad rides, and bad prices.  Somehow even with all of that, it is still a really fun place to go on an annual basis.  The best part of the fair this year was the petting zoo which included a young giraffe, a kangaroo, an ostrich, and seriously the cutest "kids" (baby goats) ever.  Savannah LOVED it all.  Her hands were all over everything and I couldn't keep my eyes off of her for one second for fear that she would start kissing the animals, or better yet, sucking on the fencing.
Piglets.  I'd forgotten how MASSIVE a sow is.  This rather seedy looking couple came up behind us as we were admiring the sow and her piglets and I heard him say to her, "That is one big-a** pig."  I thought, "Yes.  Yes, it is.  I couldn't have said it better myself."
Of course.   Is this any surprise?
So, we all know that people-watching at the fair is a real treat.  Check out this health-conscious lunch.   A corn dog, plate of onion rings, and a year's-supply of french fries.
"Can I get you a double bypass to go with that?"  Oh, the fair!!!

That plate of fries is possibly one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. Savannahs facial expression in the first picture is priceless.

I beg and beg and beg my husband to take me to a fair but he hates them for the very same reasons you mentioned. I guess it'll be different when Spence can grow up and appreciate the lights and food and rides - bad or not!

I can't belive how active Savannah is. She is so cute. I love all of her stories and how mischevious she is.
