The Beach

We spent Easter weekend with friends in Port Aransas, on the gulf coast of TX.  At just a 3.5 hour drive away, we couldn't resist the invitation to escape to a beach for a few days.  Fortunately we went with two great families who happen to be photographers.  My pictures (below) are very average, but I saw previews from the cameras of friends and I have a feeling that I will have more great pictures to post of our trip in the coming days.
Virginia LOVED the water.  She spent two hours on the boogie board with Trevor and would have stayed out longer if she could have.  Lucky for us, both of our kids have a great time on the beach.  Savannah wouldn't pose for pictures for me.  She was too busy playing mermaids in the surf with her friends.

Virginia ingested a lot of sand.  I think she took the name of the beach a little too seriously, "Cinnamon Shores."
The egg hunt was so fun.  Virginia loved it so much that Trevor kept sneaking eggs out of the back of her basket to re-hide them so that it would all last a little bit longer.  She must have found at least 30 eggs--the same few over and over again.

Some had jelly beans and others had mini candy bars.  She only wanted the ones that made a cool shaking noise--a sure sign of a treat inside.

Savannah was so pleased with her eggs.  The candy was literally gone within 2 hours.  All 4 of the big kids played "Easter Bunny" all morning and ate/re-hid the eggs for each other.  They had so much fun together.

Ahh.  Sweet peace in the car.  Who knew how great a DVD player would be in the car.  Trevor and I had 4 hours each way of peace and quiet, adult music, and adult conversation.  Truly a vacation.

She couldn't hold still long enough to snap a single picture.  This is the best I got.  Not a great picture,
but you get the idea of her utter happiness to be on vacation.

Hey! Where are you guys living? Austin? Did I know that? James and I are in Houston. Are Steve and Cami still here? Did any of us ever think we would be living in Texas? I'd love to chat...annawpearce@gmail.com. Sorry for snooping...I clicked on your blog from Amy Richard's. It was very fun to look at, I love that you have a daughter named Virginia. That is Elsa's middle name. -Anna (West)
