So fun to drive through Richmond on our way to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Oh, we've missed our old stomping grounds!! The Outer Banks were just as great as we had remembered them. Luckily Hurricane Ike didn't put a damper on our vacation.
The baby loved the beach. She had free reign to go anywhere she liked, and she liked.
She sampled some sand and shells. And got really really fantastically dirty.
When the tide was low there was a perfect little sand bar exposed between the waves and a little pool of water. The pool of water warmed right up (although the ocean was plenty warm) and we spent a lot of time crawling and playing in the warm shallow water. It was an endless wading pool.
And perfect vantage point to watch everything else that was happening in the water.
Savannah loved the boogie board. She even kicked along!
These two were busy the whole trip. They almost look like siblings...
Just checking on a band-aid one the sole of her foot. I couldn't believe it stayed on in the sand and surf. She is a band-aid queen.
The cousins had so much fun. Can't wait to add VA and New Baby Parker to this mix on the next vacation!
The vacation was a success, we left totally exhausted from a great week of playing.
Thanks Grandma & Papi for a great trip! Same time, same place next year???

Seeing those first two pictures made me want to cry. Yes, I miss seeing those everyday. Your poor house. You guys kept it up so nice, it is very disappointing to see it that way. Apparently they don't take pride in their yard. We too someday would love to return to the outerbanks. I'm jealous you got to go through our old stoppin grounds and the outer banks. Of course I would onl return to VA if all our friends came with us.

oh man, that looks like sooo much fun! And your old house is darling. I can't imagine leaving that and moving to Arizona :). Glad you guys had a fun trip and perfect that Virgina had space to roam free and feel like one of the big kids.
Frank said he talked with Todd about your visit to RIC. How fun! What a tragedy about the yard & house. It's a shame. I'm so glad you had a great trip at the beach. We're hoping to get there one day. Looks fab!
I'm jealous. I would really love to return there sooner than later. I actually tried to talk Randy into finding a job there, but I wasn't successful. Outerbanks looked fun. What great memories!
