They got worse. Aside from the fact that these little sores look incredibly painful, they are unbelievably tempting to pop. It has taken all of my will-power to resist!! Most have popped on their own by now and just look like little scabby craters. I'm worried she'll have scars. Those MEAN, MEAN ants!!!

So...I feel as if I can completely relate to your awful situation with darn, darn, darn...fire ants! Hate them but getting used to them.
I don't know if you remember right when we moved her...I shared many of the same kind of pictures of Sydney. Logan swears by a baking powder/water mixture over it instantly to help with the itching...I'm not convinced but when the were really bad we would put antibiotic ointment, bandaids, and wrap them in ace bandages. The worst is the blistering ones with the juice in them...awful. I don't know if it is good but poking them just a tiny but with a sterile pin and releasing the juice helps with the pain on Sydney and we do it very very tiny as to not even make her notice. As they get older...they and us...get aware of what to look for. They are wretched for sure though. Put down the ant killer in your yard at the beginning of every summer and fall using a fertilizing spreader...totally helps. Sorry for the long post! can you tell I am passionate about the little critters?!
Poor girl- I feel her pain. I got in a bed of them today and it hurts... Welcome to the south.
Jack got a couple of those and I thought they were spider bites. I can't believe ants can do that to them!! You are a better mom than me. I totally popped one of Jack's. I couldn't help myself!! Nothing came out. I was expecting some serious white ooze and all I found was a crater left behind of what was a big pussy zit. I am so scared of these things!!
