It's Happening

As much as I hate to admit it, my face is starting to round out a bit. Last night I asked Trevor to Google something like "pregnancy and wide nose." He gave me a strange look and kept reading his ESPN.com article. I really think that my nose is growing. You know how elderly people tend to have large ears? I think they continually grow throughout their lives and now I am a little nervous about my nose also growing continually throughout my life. Can it all be attributed to "fluid?" Now you all want to see a picture of my round face. We'll see if I can suck up my pride enough to post one. I'll try to find a flattering side-view shot!! Won't it be interesting to see how the post-pregnancy nose compares...

Baby is growing like crazy. It also seems that she is getting stronger. Yesterday I was sitting at my desk working and I got a really sharp jab in the belly. For a minute I really thought a little foot might pop out of my belly button. Out loud I said, "Ouch!" Someone walking by popped her head in and asked if I was okay. Just startled, that's all.

I think they might move my name plaque from my office door to the bathroom stall door, or at least do a crayon rubbing to duplicate it and hang it there. I'm like a smoker, only I head to the bathroom for the last 5 minutes of every hour instead of the back steps. Not quite as social as smoking, but equally relieving! :)

We bought our tickets to go to Utah in July. I am so excited. Even after three years of living away I still get SO excited every time we make that purchase. It was different to think about layovers and departure times and dealing with an infant. Trevor told the reservation agent on the phone that we would be traveling with our infant daughter. It was strange to talk about her really existing in the world. I already feel sorry for the people that have to sit near us on the plane. Flying with other people's babies is not the most pleasant experience. Hopefully she will sleep most of the way. But, if she gets as excited about things as her mother, we may not be so lucky.

Tonight is my ward baby shower. Same emotions as last time. Can't believe it is really for me, missing Mom, sisters, Mother-in-law, sisters-in-law. (It is such a girl thing and I miss not having them all around me.)

The weeks are flying by. Only 7 left!!! I am so looking forward to a summer of fun with my new baby. No school (graduation is May 19!) and three months away from work. It will be the first time since I was 15 that I have had that much time away from working. I can't wait to not have to be accountable to a boss for my time. Bring it on!!

Sounds so fun to have the whole summer ahead with your new little one. They make everything more vivid (even the middle of the night or an early morning sunset--things I had never paid much attention to until I was awake feeding a tiny infant :) I am so excited that you'll be in town--we have to get together so I can see you and your baby girl!

Katherine...So funny! You remind me of me when I was pregnant. I was so worried about my face changing. Your face looks just the same in the picture of you at your race. Don't sweat it! 7 more weeks, and you will be able to compare all of your pictures...it is really fun! You are darling prego!

Katherine-
I want some pregnant pictures!! You could hardly tell in the race photos. I don't believe for a second that your face is growing. You are going to be one of those people who are back to their regular size three weeks after having the baby. We are SO excited about you coming out here in July. Traveling will never be the same again. I told Trevor no more carry on luggage - he didn't buy it. But babies (and little kids) are the best. Eliza gets funnier every day.
We can't wait to see you!!
