Monument Avenue 10K

On Saturday two of my friends and I ran a 10K. The fun thing is that all three of us are really pregnant. We are a grand total of 93 weeks pregnant, between the three of us. So we participated in the "dress up and run" contest with the race and made these silly outfits. We were quite a spectacle for the onlookers.

It was pretty fun to run together. Originally we had planned to run the first few miles and then walk the rest, but we felt so good that we just ran the whole thing. We weren't sure if people would make silly comments to us about it not being healthy to run so pregnant, but we didn't get one negative comment. Only cheers and positive encouragement, with some laughing at our signs. Overall it was a fantastic experience and so much fun. In the park at the finish line we were milling around and a newspaper reporter found us. He interviewed us and we got the lead part of his story Baby Steps in the paper on Sunday. It wa s a great culmination of a fun event.

That is so funny! I loved the article. I am also throughly impressed with you running a 10k. I certainly couldn't do that. You look great.

Way to go, Kath! You look great. These last weeks feel like forever when you are so big and so excited to meet your little girl. Hang in there! I look forward to meeting her, too, when you are in SLC this summer.
