Nothing like a little heat
"Wow" is all I can say about how hot it has been here in Virginia. The past four or five days have all been over 100 degrees with 80% humidity. Yikes! I can't even explain to all of you living in the Wild Wild (dry) West what it feels like. I will say that I am incredibly grateful that the old rickety air conditioner that originally came with our house broke down three summers ago causing us to purchase a fancy new EnergyStar unit to keep us cool. The A/C has barely shut off at all this week, including at night. In my opinion, the electric bills are money well spent! The night before last, the low temp. was 78. The early morning runs this week have caused me to again stop in disbelief at how much sweat my body can produce. (Yuck, I know.) Even the warmest days in SLC don't quite stack up. We're hoping for a break in the weather to bring us a good storm and cooler temperatures. Someone here in Richmond sells 300 lb. chunks of ice that they will come dump in your swimming pool to help you cool off a bit. I'd like a little 300 lb. chunk of ice in my front yard to sunbathe on top of.
